Lolkick Sims Log III - Toilets N' Gills

Where we last left off, Tabris Schiller changed Hexed's masculine, all-black bed into a mixture of pink, lime green, yellow, and aqua sheets. Hexed awoke in a shock, and jumped out of his bed in fright. Hexed grabbed a plate of waffles and ran to a chair in the now brightly lit computer room. But Hexed didn't care about the waffles. After he finished the last tasteless bite of his meal, Hexed just stared at the wall... motionless... lifeless.... Meanwhile, Tabris was getting a promotion from his boss and was totally in the clear for the prank he pulled.

And that left Door. Door, finishing work, hopped in with his carpool and began the ride home. However, as they cruising alone the forest-filled roads, a car suddenly stopped them from moving any further. As it turns out, the driver was some kind of medical agent. Door, a low scientist, was for some reason wanted in the medical field. Door was sure this was a mistake. He coaxed the man back into his car, who at this point was yelling in confusion. Door decided it would simply be best to flee the scene. His carpool and he quickly sped away toward the city.

Final Fantasy Type-0: A Preview

"You spoony bard!" "There's not a thing I don't cherish!" "We live to make the impossible possible!" "I, Garland, will knock you all down!" "Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men!" All of these are somewhat infamous quotes from one of the most successful and well-known video game series ever: Final Fantasy. For years, the Final Fantasy series has graced its audiences with such recurring icons as its rebellious protagonists, fluffy, pom-pom-bearing Moogles, large golden Chocobos, gelatin-based enemies, and the greatest swordsman of all.

However, such a bright and lifting description is more fitting for the most early entries in the Final Fantasy series, in which you fight as characters wearing humorous onions as armor and are assisted by old man and five-year-olds as magicians. Let's also be sure not to forget cheese, biscuits, AND mashed potatoes! In contrast, more recent entries in the Final Fantasy series have been far from so whimsical and for some gamers, pleasant. Starting in Final Fantasy VII, the plots became more Gothic, the characters became darker and more negative, and so forth. Hopeless and failure became more common in the stories. Thankfully, we still had our cute, cozy, fluffy Chocobos and Moogles to make us feel some sense of familiarity.

But not anymore.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Log III

Welcome back; time for another exciting episode of logging Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. This one is late because I spent the last week submersing myself in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. That game is amazing, by the way, I highly recommend it.

Okay, Wonderland. This time around, Sora's looking for completely unexplained items called "Inklings", which no character bothers to fully unveil or clear up for us. However, Sora looks just behind him to see something sparkly and shiny and possibly star-transcending. Once Sora found it to be an Inkling, he discovered it had two of these qualities. Then Sora reminds a girl who looks to be at least in early teens what her name is... only you, Kingdom Hearts, only you. Anyway, off to collect more delicious Inklings.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Log II

The story so far: this is the story of a man who continues to defy logic. After Sora's adventures with Xemnas and the Organization had come to their end, Jiminy begins to find cryptic messages in his initial journal. To discover their meaning, Mickey Mouse and two squirrels code the journal and create a very often confused data Sora. After fighting through the glitches in Destiny Islands, the data Sora was sucked into the world's darkness looming above, which took him to...

Traverse Town! Sora does indeed discover that he saved Destiny Islands from the glitches. As commanded by the overlord of his existence, King Mickey, Sora meets up with Cid, former Gummi Ship expert. Cid reveals that Traverse Town is no better than the islands Sora just left--the blox are here too! Sora knows he must go and debug this world too--only because that Overlord Mickey politely orders him to--though Cid offers an extra task. Apparently some triplets have gone missing, and it's up to Sora to save the day! And you guessed it, it's those pesky duck brothers: Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

... I swear, if I have to play Ice Cream Beat again, I might just quit this game right now.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Log I

I'm back from my trip! Where this trip was to you shall not know until I write a blog post about it, but just know that after much waiting, I finally have Kingdom Hearts Re:coded!

The last game in the Kingdom Hearts series that I played was easily one of my favorite games ever, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Due to the sheer massiveness of the game, I only finished it completely under a month ago. Great game, and the ending effectively got me back into the series. However, Square Enix, know this: if you make me buy another spin-off before Kingdom Hearts III that is some sequel of that game, our relationship may go into a state of violence and instability as of yet unbeknown to this world.

And so now, here we are. After playing as Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and then three entirely new protagonists in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, I'm finally playing with Sora as the main protagonist again, for the first time since Kingdom Hearts II! Let the nostalgia begin! Except for nostalgia of the Summons. Those never happened and they shall never be spoken of again. If they ever are to appear in a later installment, here is what I have to say: THEN WHO WAS SUMMON

Lolkick Sims Log II - The Tragedy of Hexed Magica

Where we lest left off, Hexed received an ominous call from another member of the Lolkick Household, Door. Door explained that a terrible reaction occurred at work, affecting him in some way. While nothing could be seen immediately by Hexed, he detected that something was definitely up...

As Door slept that night, Hexed tried to take his mind off it by playing some computer games. Tabris was especially angry at this. He had been working extra hard at work to try and catch that criminal he met the other day, and could really have used some destressing from some computer games. Trying to solve this, he bought a TV for the house, but the video game consoles were far too expensive for the Lolkick Household's ~$1,000 budget. So instead, he made spaghetti. Then he watched a TV program about making spaghetti at 2 AM.

Lolkick Sims Log I - Lords of the Fishes

In the world of The Sims 3, a new family has moved into Sunset Valley. A mysterious organization known only as "Lolkick" has been born into this world, here to live their Sim lives. All, they shall experience; love, tragedy, happiness, promotion, toiletlessness. Here, on this beachside house, Door Nothing, Tabris Schiller, and Hexed Magica live their lives as scientist, police officer, and musician, respectively. What awaits them in Sunset Valley now?

First of all, it seems some new villagers have moved in to Sunset Valley. Far from The World That Never Was, Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Vexen, and Lexaeus have settled into the Organization XIII Household in the suburbs. Slenderman and BEN have settled far in the rural edge of town in the Creepypasta Household, and that's not all. The Warriors of Light are even here; Black Mage Evilwizarding, Fighter McWarrior, Thief Robber, and Red Mage Statsowski have moved into the the suburb next to Lolkick. Across the street from them is their good friend White Mage Healer. Hooray for immigration!

Pokemon: Generation V

I have a long, long history with Pokemon. I think the first gaming system I ever had was a Game Boy Color, and I distinctly remember playing through the Blue, Red, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and even Crystal Versions on that wonderful piece of machinery. I was so blessed as to also have a Nintendo 64, equipped with Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Pokemon Snap. If I was any more of a Pokefan, you could just slap a red hat on my head and call me "Ash Ketchum."

Then, one day, GAMEFREAK decided, "Let's make Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Versions." And oh, indeed they did. I remember purchasing both copies with my own saved up money on a trip to the local Target--I also remember eating chicken fingers while I was there, but that's besides the point. Pokemon Ruby was the love of my life for the next few years. I quickly became a Pokemon Master with my Blazeikin, Groudon, Rayquaza, and various other monsters. It was not long before I had graced the Elite Four and Champion with my victorious smile over one hundred times, and had completed the Pokedex.

...Or had I?

NintendoDSi

On April 5, 2009, Nintendo launched their latest invention in the United States: Nintendo DSi. Everyone had wondered what the new Nintendo DS would feature--another screen, the ability to install game data to the device, perhaps enhanced PictoChat? None of these were included, instead an extremely weak and low quality camera was installed and Internet capability. With the latter came the ability to download games from an online DSi store to play, such as classic rereleases and short new games/applications. Now on the subject of the Internet, this doesn't seem bad, right? Get to relive the adventures of the Oregon Trail or play an exclusive version of WarioWare, nice! Wrong. The Internet capabilities of the Nintendo DSi is horrible, and in this blog post, I am going to prove that it and the rest of the DSi are not an improvement over the Nintendo DS Lite, its predecssor.

The Music of Final Fantasy VI

I certainly have a liking for Final Fantasy games, though I haven't played too many of them. I have much more experience with the Kingdom Hearts series of games, a spin-off of sorts from the series. Of Final Fantasy games, I have only played to a full extent Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, and Dissidia Final Fantasy. I am currently playing through Final Fantasy for the PSP, and I'm writing a walkthrough on the Final Fantasy Wiki (go check it out!). Needless to say, I have an interest in the games.

However, there are also games that I do not like in the Final Fantasy series, the most of which is Final Fantasy VII. Having had it shoved down my throat in the entire Kingdom Hearts series didn't exactly make it a good memory. From the content and characters I have had the utter displeasure to observe and learn about, I can tell the game had truly nothing to make it special, and I can in fact identify many weak points in the game's structure and story. Also, no, Sephiroth is not the greatest thing ever.

Then, you've got Final Fantasy VI. I don't dislike this game, but I can't say that I like it either--because I haven't played it! From what I can only observe through articles and videos, the main character is certainly not one that I like: Terra Branford. Anyway, I was recently asked to critique several pieces of music from this classic game, and I figured it would make a good update here. So, here goes!
