Pokemon: Generation V

I have a long, long history with Pokemon. I think the first gaming system I ever had was a Game Boy Color, and I distinctly remember playing through the Blue, Red, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and even Crystal Versions on that wonderful piece of machinery. I was so blessed as to also have a Nintendo 64, equipped with Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Pokemon Snap. If I was any more of a Pokefan, you could just slap a red hat on my head and call me "Ash Ketchum."

Then, one day, GAMEFREAK decided, "Let's make Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Versions." And oh, indeed they did. I remember purchasing both copies with my own saved up money on a trip to the local Target--I also remember eating chicken fingers while I was there, but that's besides the point. Pokemon Ruby was the love of my life for the next few years. I quickly became a Pokemon Master with my Blazeikin, Groudon, Rayquaza, and various other monsters. It was not long before I had graced the Elite Four and Champion with my victorious smile over one hundred times, and had completed the Pokedex.

...Or had I?

68th Golden Globe Award Picks

Ah, the Golden Globes are here again. Just under the Academy Oscars are the Golden Globes, rewarding the best acts, programs, actors, actresses, and films of modern day television and film. Over twenty golden, foot-tall trophies of a golden sphere held up by a man of gold shall be received tonight by the peak of talent... right? Well, not for sure. The Golden Globes cannot please everyone, since not everyone wants the same nominees to claim the gold. So here, I'll show who I want to win the gold, the Globes, and the glory!

Theory of Chromoperceptive Discontinuity

As you see this screen, you surely are seeing a bit of blue somewhere on-screen. You look outside or above, and yellow lights can be seen shining from some bulb. Perhaps look down below to find a mixture of green and brown earth, or in the fridge for a variety of pink meats, red fruits, and yellow boxes of ingredients.

But just what are these colors? What is red, and what is yellow? What makes purple the color of violets, and green the dress that plants wear? Before you tell me that it's basic primary colors being mixed together, or light being reflected into my cornea, stop and think: what if we didn't all see the same? What if my red was your yellow? Or your black was my white? Or even if my sky blue is your ocean green?

A Haiku for Precipitation

The sky has been gray.
Yet nothing has fallen yet.
I want it to snow.

BEST. HAIKU. EVER. Oh, and I'll take rain too. Please. OH MY GOD JUST PLEASE PRECIPITATE.
